Lina Forward is a monthly support circle for convert women, based on the principles of Project Lina and run by fellow converts who are Project Lina graduates It provides a safe space for further learning and interactive discussions on issues relevant to the convert experience. Topics have included: the organization of a Muslim home; talking to non-Muslim family about current events; developing a spiritual connection in salah; handling holidays with non-Muslim families; what to do when faith feels weak; and handling multicultural friendships and marriages. Lina Forward also hosts an annual turkey dinner, hot chocolate hangout, Eid parties, and includes a traveling lending library of over 60 books for adults and children which was funded by donations through Daybreak Bookshop.
Lina Forward is currently only available in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We are currently developing a handbook and training/mentorship program to help other converts start similar support circles in their areas.
