The 2019 Daybreak Literary Awards are now open!
Daybreak Press is a platform for Muslim women to raise their voices in the literary landscape and create positive cultural change through literature. Through the Daybreak Literary Awards, we aim to honor the best titles published by Muslim women authors.

1. Who can apply?
Any author who is female and Muslim.
2. What books are eligible for this year’s awards?
Books published between 2000 and 2019.
3. What are the entry fees?
Entry fees are $50 per category. Books may be entered in more than one category, but a separate entry fee will be due for each entry. Forms of payment accepted: PayPal, credit card.
4. Where do I send my books?
Entrance will be requested to mail two physical copies of their book to Daybreak Bookshop (720 Washington Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414) and one digital copy to firstname.lastname@example.org.
5. When will winners be announced?
Winners will be contacted by a Daybreak Literary Award representative by September 1st. They will receive suggestions on how to proceed and promote their work, now that their book has been honored with this award. Winners will receive book award stickers, digital award seals, a certificate, and a medal to be presented at the Annual Daybreak Press Muslim Women’s Literary Conference in October, 2019. Winners who are unable to attend the award ceremony will receive their medals and certificates by mail.
6. Will there be a winner in every category?
Not necessarily. This will be left to the judges’ discretion.
