Oh Faithful Guest

Oh faithful guest
The day you come for me,
Will my soul be at its best,
Waiting to be free?

Will I be basked in sin,
Lounging around,
When you creep in
And take me without a sound?

Will I be wrapped in pain,
Trapped in bed for years,
Praying for you again and again,
Waiting for you in tears?

Will I sense that you are near,
And raise my hands to pray,
Or run here and there,
And wail for one more day?

Oh faithful death,
The day you come for me,
Will My Lord’s name be on my last breath?
Will I follow you in full victory?
