Ustadha Safiyyah Salaam serves as an instructor for Ribaat Academic Institute. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, a master’s degree in Collaborative Education with an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement, and a master’s degree in educational leadership. She began her career in special education and eventually shifted to ESL, where she has worked as a team leader, peer coach, ESL Coordinator, Director of Student Services, and ESL Instructional Advisor. Her specialty areas include family engagement, instructional design and delivery, cultural responsiveness, diverse learners, and coaching.
In her local community, she has volunteered on her masjid’s da’wah committee and served as a course instructor, teaching an Islamic essentials beliefs class for female converts, seekers, and women returning to the practice of the faith.
