POSITION OVERVIEW
The Educational Technology & Systems Lead (ETSL) is responsible for the organisation’s digital education infrastructure across Classter (SIS), Canvas (LMS), and WooCommerce. The role ensures systems are stable, integrated, and continuously optimised to support student, academic, and operational workflows.
This role sits at the intersection of operations, data, and user experience. The ETSL translates organisational needs into functional system improvements, with a strong focus on reporting architecture, user journeys, and structured system enhancements delivered in partnership with external vendors.
The objective of this role is to build organisational capability and depth to implement, test, and optimize systems effectively, ensuring the university launches on time with fully functional and reliable technology infrastructure.
SCOPE OF WORK
This role is focused on delivering defined system improvements and infrastructure outcomes within a 6-month contract period.
Systems Configuration & Management
- Configure and optimise Classter as system of record
- Manage roles, permissions, and access governance
- Act as primary liaison with vendor for system issues and enhancements
User Experience & Workflow Optimisation
- Identify and reduce friction across student and staff workflows
- Improve enrolment journey, forms, and system navigation
- Ensure consistency across SIS, LMS, and user-facing processes
Reporting & Data Enablement
- Design and implement reporting dashboards across departments
- Define data structures and naming conventions
- Enable access to reliable, decision-ready data
Systems Design & Vendor Delivery
- Translate organisational needs into technical specifications
- Deliver transcript structures, grading schemas, and academic outputs
- Test and validate system configurations prior to rollout
Platform Integration (Canvas & WooCommerce)
- Ensure alignment between SIS, LMS, and e-commerce systems
- Maintain enrolment and payment flows
- Resolve integration and data sync issues
Automation & Documentation
- Identify automation opportunities
- Document system architecture, workflows, and SOPs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience in systems administration and implementation)
- Experience working with Classter, Canvas, and/or WooCommerce
- Experience in higher education, online learning, or academic administration environments
- Familiarity with student records, transcripts, grading schemas, and academic compliance requirements
- Experience designing or supporting single sign-on (SSO) and authentication systems (e.g., Google Workspace, SAML, OAuth)
- Basic proficiency in data querying or reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
- Experience improving end-to-end user journeys across integrated systems
- Exposure to process improvement or systems implementation projects
