Our Ribaat Student of the Month for July 2025 is Kaha Osman. She is a Somali Canadian currently based in Ottawa, Canada. Although trained as a teacher, she is now supporting her family as a stay-at-home mother to her three children.
Kaha first came across Ribaat in 2020 during the COVID-19 quarantine through the Pilgrims at Home challenge. After that experience, she began taking classes and later attended the Ribaat Immersion Retreat. She is currently enrolled in Ribaat’s Tajwid program.
As someone who often travels and has a changing schedule, Kaha has struggled to remain connected with a Quran teacher long term. She describes Ribaat as a “blessing”—a structured, ijaza-granting program with the flexibility she has always needed.
Ribaat has had a transformative impact on Kaha’s spiritual life. It has strengthened her relationship with the Quran and motivated her to increase in devotion. She shares how inspiring it has been to witness the anisat and fellow students striving for excellence in their worship and daily routines.
One of her favorite classes has been The Crowning Venture with Anse Dr. Saadia Mian. The class has deeply motivated her and helped her reframe her personal relationship with the Quran.
Kaha’s goals for her studies with Ribaat are both ambitious and heartfelt. She hopes to complete an ijaza in hifz (memorization of the Quran), continue earning hadith certifications, and ultimately work toward the Ribaat Teaching Certification inshallah.
May Allah grant Kaha tawfiq in her journey with the Quran and make her a source of guidance, light, and knowledge for her family and community.
